A fabulous vintage gold racehorse and jockey brooch by Alabaster and Wilson.
The realistically modelled horse and jockey is made in yellow gold with the jockey enamelled in green and white 'silks'. The details are superb with a lucky number 8 engraved and enamelled to the saddle.
The brooch is solid gold and has a pin to the reverse with a safety catch. A perfect piece which would look fantastic on a jacket, jumper or hat.
Era: Mid Century, c.1940 - 1960
Measurements: Length 1.3cm in length, 3cm at highest point.
The brooch is 13.5 grams in weight.
Hallmarks: Full British hallmarks for Birmingham 9ct gold 1949 A&W makers mark (Alabaster and Wilson)
