A large realistic bee cleverly made from two cabochon tigers eye stones and swept back wings finely set with rose cut diamonds.
This beautiful bee has cabochon ruby eyes and gold legs.
The bee is seen as a representation of good fortune and creativity and their image has long been used as a powerful symbol traceable back to the Egyptians and Pagans.
This beautiful and unusal brooch is made in silver and gold, typical of the Victorian era, there is a later added roller safety clasp to the pin.
Era: Victorian c.1839 - 1901
Measurements: Length 2.9cm, width 2.5cm, 8.8 grams.
Hallmarks: Unmarked - tests as silver and 15ct gold
