A quirky late Victorian shell design necklace with 2 beautifully made gold stylised 'whelk' shells each set with a small pearl.
The larger shell to the base hangs freely from a double chain and the necklace is attached to a fine trace chain with orginal barrel clasp.
Era: Victorian, 1839 - 1901
Measurements: Shell drop 3.5cm in length, 1.2cm at widest point,
chain 42cm long
Hallmarks: Clasp stamped 9ct.
