A classic late Victorian Signet Ring with family crest
This stylish ring has a seal engraved carnelian to the centre within a gold border open to the reverse. The oval intaglio is carved depicting a griffin with motto beneath ‘BUENOUE THAHIT SUA VOLUPTAS’ which translates to ‘every man to his taste’.
We have not been able to trace the family crest.
The ring has tapered shoulders which flow onto a plain shank typical of the era.
The ring is very low set to the hand and in wonderful condition. It is in 18ct gold and is fully hallmarked for London 1897.
