An elegant late Victorian pearl and diamond star brooch/pendant.
This versatile piece which can be worn as a brooch or a pendant is designed as a 6 pointed star with a central old cut diamond from which radiate 6 seed pearl set points. The pearls have a lovely lustre and we believe they are all original.
The brooch is finely made in 18ct gold and has a detachable seed pearl set bail and a 'sprung' pin to the reverse.
It is in superb condition with its original pearl set bale and brooch fitting.
Era: Victorian, 1839 - 1901
Measurements: Brooch 2.5cm (1") diameter
Bail 1cm (3/8") in length.
Old cut diamond estimated 0.20 carats.
Brooch weighs 5.8 grams (with screw fitting)
Hallmarks: No assay marks; brooch tests as 18ct gold
