A stylish late Victorian diamond heart brooch.
The brooch designed as a heart is set with a central old cut diamond within a border of gold, to a black enamel background. It has an understated contemporary look despite being nearly 150 years old.
This lovely brooch has an integral locket back made of bevelled heart shaped glass with a silk lining behind.
The brooch has a sprung pin to the reverse keeping it secure when worn.
Era: Victorian, 1837 - 1901
Measurements: Old cut diamond estimated 0.45 carats
Heart 1.8cm (0.7”) in length, 1.6cm (0.6”) at widest point
5.5 grams in weight
Hallmarks: No assay marks, heart tests as 18ct gold
