A fabulous Victorian aesthetic movement silver bangle.
This unusual cuff style bangle is decorated with an Aesthetic style foliate design of ginko leaves, a butterfly, swallow and a rose under an intricate triple border.
The bangle is in fabulous condition and is a great example of late Victorian Aesthetic movement jewellery.
It is plain on the underside typical of bangles from this era and has a hinged section to the middle with a push tongue clasp.
In the Victorian language of flowers, the ginko leaf symbolises purity and peace, swallows represent love returning and the butterfly was believed to bring luck and symbolise rebirth.
