A stylish Edwardian diamond swallow brooch.
This beautiful brooch depicts a swallow in flight and is set with rosecut diamonds in silver and gold.
The swallow was seen as a symbol of enduring love and loyalty and was a popular subject in jewellery during the Victorian and Edwardian eras.
The bird is set on a knife-edge bar with a pearl terminal to one end, allowing the edge of the brooch to disappear when worn showing only the swallow and the pearl.
The brooch has a handmade safety clasp to the reverse and the swallow could be converted to a pendant if required.
Era: Edwardian, 1901 - 1920
