An elegant Edwardian enamel stylised Violet brooch.
The brooch depicting a violet flower is finely enamelled in pink and white enamel to represent the petals and is set with an oldcut diamond to the centre in a milgrain edge. The violet is associated with modesty in the meaning of flowers.
The brooch has a folding loop attachment to the reverse allowing it to also be worn as a pendant. The brooch is probably American in origin and the enamel is in perfect condition.
Era: Edwardian, 1901 - 1920
Measurements: Diamond estimated 0.20carat
Brooch 2.5cm in length, 2.3cm at widest point, it weighs 5.9grams
Hallmarks: Unmarked, tests platinum and gold
