A stylish Art Deco jade and diamond brooch.
The brooch with a central jade panel carved with flowers with a diamond set open terminal to each end. The jade is slimply mounted and open to the reverse typical of brooches of this era.
The jade has a lovely soft green colour and is in beautiful condition.
Jade was a popular choice for Art Deco jewellery following Cartier's extensive use of the stone in the early 1920's. The gemstone is revered in Chinese society where Confucius praised jade as a symbol of righteousness and knowledge. In Chinese culture Jade is customarily thought to influence health and prosperity, and ward off negative energy.
