Art Deco Diamond 2 Stone Crossover Ring circa 1930
RD304
£3,750.00
A classic Art Deco diamond 2 stone 'toi et moi' ring.
This beautiful ring has 2 old cut diamonds mounted on a twist within tapered diamond set shoulders. The old cut diamonds are 8 claw set within a coronet mount open to the reverse.
The top of the band has 8 graduated smaller old cut diamonds within a milgrain setting open to the reverse. The shoulders flow onto a plain platinum slightly tapered shank.
The head of the ring is low set to the hand and this wonderful ring would make a fabulous unique engagement ring.
This design is a stylised version of the French "toi et moi" or 'you and me' design. With the two principle stones representing two hearts or souls entwined. It was popularised in France in the late 18th Century by Napoleon who gave his wife Josephine a ring of a similar design as an engagement ring.
